Geethika won 1st place at the NJ State HOSA Conference for Medical Terminology! She'll be heading to the international conference in Nashville, TN this summer! Congrats Geethika!

Ritika gave a Tedx Talk on Psoriasis, a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by thick, scaly patches of skin. Way to go Ritika!

Deniz Aydin, BioMedizone Turkey President
Deniz and her BioMedizone Turkey team have organized a donation tour to Down Syndrome Cafe in Istanbul with our school. They have supported people working there for education and life expenses of people with down syndrome. Well done Deniz and BioMedizone Turkey team!

BioMedizone Houston's MD Anderson Tour
Houston BioMedizone went on a tour to MD Andersonβs Proton Therapy Center on April 19th. They were led by Dr. Steve Frank who is a practicing physician there. Way to go BioMedizone Houston!

Fair Lawn HS Chapter SUCCESS
Fair Lawn HS has had a great month!
They held a Qdoba Fundraiser earning over $900 towards CPR certification for the group.
Fair Lawn HS also held a care package donation drive for people from their high school to donate gently used materials for children at local hospitals, such as books, stickers, crayons, and puzzles.
Finally, they attended a health fair and spread awareness on St. Joseph's Health initiatives.

BioMedizone North Texas Virtual Meeting
BioMedizone North Texas had a virtual zoom call event where we had a few doctors and local educators join from the area to educate and teach kids about basic medical stuff they need to know, such as basic life support techniques that can be useful in the future. Each student that joined and stayed got a volunteer hour.

Breaking News in Biomedicine April 2025
- Brain Tumor Research: Scientists have identified a distinct population of immune cells that support the growth of aggressive glioblastomas. Using spatial genomics, they discovered a symbiotic relationship between glioblastoma stem cells and immunosuppressive myeloid-derived suppressor cells.
- AI in Cardiology: Artificial intelligence has proven to be significantly better at analyzing long-term ECG recordings compared to technicians. A study revealed that AI missed severe arrhythmias in only 0.3% of cases, compared to 4.4% by human technicians.
- Radiation Therapy Innovation: Researchers have developed a method inspired by tardigrades to protect healthy cells during radiation therapy. By delivering a protein called Dsup via nanoparticles, they successfully reduced DNA damage in healthy tissues.
